Our Engagements
Three Engagements, Each Designed for Where Your QC Team Is Now
Iras Lab offers a structured path: a diagnostic review, a supervised deployment pilot, and an ongoing stewardship service. You do not need to commit to all three — each stands on its own.

How Iras Lab Approaches AI Integration in QC
Our starting assumption is that AI belongs in quality control workflows only where it can demonstrate a clear reading advantage without creating documentation ambiguity. We test that assumption by reading your records before we recommend anything.
All engagement methodology is built around the principle that AI outputs in QC settings need to be traceable, confirmable, and defensible to an auditor. A CAPA memo that an AI drafted but an engineer did not review is not a document — it is a liability.
We do not have preferred AI tool vendors. Our recommendations are based on what works with your LIMS or QMS configuration and your team's capacity to manage the tool responsibly.
Read first, recommend second
We read a sample of your actual records before proposing anything. This is not desk research.
Standards check before deployment
Every recommendation is reviewed against ISO 9001 and Halal Manual requirements before being presented.
Supervised and documented
Pilot deployments are supervised for six weeks with written usage policies and scope boundary documentation throughout.
Written brief as the close
Every engagement closes with a plain-language written brief addressed to your head of quality.
QC Workflow Reading Review
A short engagement where we sit with your QC manager and one senior inspector. We read a sample of inspection records, non-conformance logs, and CAPA reports, then write a brief on where AI summarisation could carefully ease handling. The work is ISO 9001 and Halal Manual-aware where applicable, and respects shop-floor authority.
What's included:
- On-site or remote session with QC manager and one inspector
- Reading of sampled inspection records, NCR logs, and CAPA reports
- Written brief identifying AI summarisation opportunities and risks
- ISO 9001 and Halal Manual compatibility notes where applicable
Process:
Inspection Reading & Drafting Pilot
A measured deployment of an AI assist that reads inspection records, drafts CAPA memo first passes, and surfaces patterns across batches. Integration with your LIMS or QMS is read-only; engineers confirm every conclusion. Includes a six-week supervised period, training for two inspectors, and a usage policy aligned with ISO 9001.
What's included:
- Read-only integration with your LIMS or QMS
- AI-drafted first-pass CAPA memos for engineer review
- Cross-batch pattern surfacing and summary reports
- Six-week supervised operation with weekly check-ins
- Training for two inspectors in AI output evaluation
- Written usage policy aligned with ISO 9001 documentation requirements
Process:
Quarterly Stewardship
A monthly advisory engagement for QC leaders whose teams already use AI reading assists. Each quarter we sample outputs, audit boundaries, and write a brief for your head of quality. Includes alignment with ISO 9001, JAKIM Halal Manual where applicable, and customer audit expectations, plus a yearly written summary for your management review.
What's included:
- Quarterly AI output sampling — assessing quality and scope compliance
- Boundary audit — checking that AI has not drifted outside agreed scope
- Written brief for head of quality each quarter
- ISO 9001 and JAKIM Halal Manual alignment check per period
- Customer audit preparation support where needed
- Yearly written summary for management review documentation
Billing structure:
Billed quarterly in advance. Engagements can be paused between periods with notice. No annual commitment required.

Best For
Reading Review
Teams that have not yet introduced AI and want a low-commitment way to find out if it makes sense for their records.
Most Popular
Drafting Pilot
Teams that have completed a Reading Review or have a clear use case and want to test AI-assisted CAPA drafting under supervised conditions.
Best For
Stewardship
QC leaders who need ongoing audit evidence and boundary monitoring for AI tools that are already embedded in their team's workflow.
Professional Standards
Standards and Protocols Across All Services
Data Confidentiality
Client records are used exclusively within the agreed engagement scope. Data is not retained, aggregated, or referenced outside the engagement. Deletion on close is standard practice.
Read-Only Access Protocol
System access is read-only without exception. No changes are written to client LIMS or QMS environments. This applies to all integration work in the Pilot and Stewardship services.
ISO 9001 Clause Awareness
All advisory outputs reference relevant ISO 9001 clauses where documentation, control of records, or CAPA procedure requirements are implicated. Audit trail integrity is a core concern.
JAKIM Halal Manual Alignment
For Halal-certified facilities, AI integration recommendations are cross-referenced with JAKIM MS 1500 documentation expectations. Halal-sensitive record handling is noted explicitly.
Engineer-In-Loop Policy
Usage policies include explicit requirements that engineer review precedes any AI output entering QC records. The policy document is structured to satisfy customer audit enquiries about AI governance.
Written Deliverable Policy
No engagement closes on a verbal recommendation. Every finding and recommendation is documented in a written brief addressed to the head of quality, in plain language without unnecessary technical jargon.
